ABC to air video of rescued captive

ABC says it will air home video today of abduction victim Jaycee Dugard, who was rescued last August after 18 years in captivity.

The network says Dugard, mom Terry Probyn and half-sister Shayna will be seen and heard for the first time on-camera since she was abducted in 1991 near her home in South Lake Tahoe, Calif. She was held prisoner in the backyard of her captor.

Dugard now lives with her mother and two daughters, allegedly fathered by her abductor, in northern California.

Excerpts from the video of Dugard, 29, are set to air on “Good Morning America,” “20/20” and “Nightline.”

Guru touts TV show

Ever wonder how Martha Stewart might tackle your decorating disaster or party-planning nightmare? Some folks will find out.

Stewart said Thursday that she and producer Mark Burnett are teaming for a new TV series, “Help Me, Martha.” In the reality series, someone petitions Stewart to help a friend who’s having trouble planning a wedding or a special meal or is facing a lifestyle issue. The doorbell rings and – surprise! – Stewart and her team are there to take over.

Stewart’s company has yet to sell the series to a network.

Oscar presenters set

Academy Awards front-runners Sandra Bullock and Jeff Bridges and at least four other nominees are hitting the Oscar stage as presenters.

Joining Bridges and Bullock as presenters will be fellow acting nominees Matt Damon, Anna Kendrick and Carey Mulligan and director Quentin Tarantino.

Model, driver forgive

The driver who accused model Naomi Campbell of assaulting him said through his lawyer that he “got angry and overreacted” and regrets involving the police.

“This whole thing has been blown out of proportion and I apologize to Ms. Campbell for causing that to happen,” driver Miodrag Mejdina said.

Mejdina told police Tuesday that Campbell hit him from behind and his head struck the steering wheel of his car, causing bruising. He pulled over in midtown Manhattan and got out to speak to a traffic agent, who alerted police. Campbell was not at the scene when officers arrived, police said.

Campbell, 39, whose feisty temper has led to previous legal troubles, said she was pleased that Mejdina, 27, had apologized and that she wanted to move on.

Full episodes of the shows are offered by Comedy Central on each show’s Web site.
