Concordia wins 3A title

Concordia knocked off No. 1 Rushville 59-48 in the Class 3A state championship game Saturday at Memorial Coliseum.

It's the first state title for the No. 8 Cadets (24-3). Rushville finishes 25-3.

Erynn Meiklejohn scored 16 points, while Angie Doerffler and Anna Goeglein each had 12 while Andrea Newbauer added 11 points.

The Cadets built an 11-point lead early in the fourth quarter and never looked back.
