Rushville leads Concordia at half

Concordia went without a point in the final 4:40 of the second quarter, allowing Rushville to take a 25-24 halftime lead.

The Cadets made three of their first five shots in the second quarter, and Shauna Watson's free throw gave them a 24-19 lead with 4:40 left.

But from there, Concordia missed eight shots and had four turnovers.

Rushville took a 25-24 lead on Shelbie Justice's two free throws with 53.1 seconds left in the quarter.

The Cadets shot 34 percent in the half and had eight turnovers.

After a first quarter in which Erynn Meiklejohn scored eight points, she attempted only one shot in the second quarter.

Concordia needs a boost from Andrea Newbauer and Anna Goeglein offensively. Newbauer entered the game as a 60 percent shooter, and Goeglein made 44 percent of her shots.

But they were a combined 3 of 14 in the first half. They both missed shots at the rim, and Newbauer had several go in-and-out.
