Tom Crean addressed the dismissal of assistant coach Roshown McLeod during Monday's Big Ten teleconference.
"You can't focus on timing. You gotta focus on what the right decision is," Crean said. "That's the way that it is. That's the decision that I made. It's all about moving the program forward. It's about putting the program first. That's the focus that I'm gonna have. Now we just do the things we need to do on a continual basis to get better in the short term and work to improve in the long term. That's the extent of it right now.
The school announced the decision to not renew McLeod's contract Sunday night.
McLeod was an assistant at IU for two years. He played at Duke and St. John's and spent four seasons in the NBA with Atlanta, Philadelphia and Boston.
