Milestones and other stuff

A few odds, ends and items of mild interest as the Komets head into a critical three-game home stand:

  • Kudos to P.C. Drouin. The Komets forward picked up his 500th career assist Friday in the 4-1 victory over Bloomington.
  • The Komets set a season high for the IHL Sunday with their 56-shot assault on Flint goalie Sergei Zvyagin in a 3-2 loss. Sean O'Connor, in addition, had a league-high 12 shots. The team record for shots on goal is 80, set in 1965 in a 12-1 win over Dayton. The Komets lead the league in shots with a per-game average of 35.05.
  • Konstantin Shafranov was in street clothes for Sunday's loss, thanks to the dreaded Bug That's Going Around. Komets coach Al Sims says he'll be back for Wednesday's game against Bloomington.
