2 safely escape Angola house fire

A furnace fire caused about $60,000 damage to an Angola home early Monday, firefighters said.

Firefighters were called to a one-story home at 405 E. South St. in Angola about 4:30 p.m. Monday.

Two people escaped the home before firefighters arrived. The fire began near a furnace room by the kitchen, firefighters said. The family was displaced because of the blaze.

The fire is believed to be accidental, caused by the furnace.
