A man claiming to have a gun robbed a south-side drugstore of prescription painkillers, according to a Fort Wayne police report. The man approached the pharmacy counter in Walgreens at 222 E. Pettit Ave.A furnace fire caused about $60,000 damage to an Angola home early Monday, firefighters said.
Firefighters were called to a one-story home at 405 E. South St. in Angola about 4:30 p.m. Monday.
Two people escaped the home before firefighters arrived. The fire began near a furnace room by the kitchen, firefighters said. The family was displaced because of the blaze.
The fire is believed to be accidental, caused by the furnace.
