Crack cocaine, guns at house near school

A Fort Wayne man was arrested this week on drug-dealing and other charges after police found crack cocaine, guns and cash in his house across the street from Village Elementary School.

The Allen County SWAT team raided a house Monday at 4616 Werling Drive, near South Anthony Boulevard and East Pettit Avenue, after a six-month narcotics investigation, police said.

The resident, Gregory L. White, 39, was arrested on charges of dealing cocaine, receiving stolen property, maintaining a common nuisance and driving with a suspended license.

When police searched the house, they found 27 grams of crack cocaine, plastic bags, scales, a large amount of cash and three handguns – one of which was stolen, authorities said.

White was being held without bail, and police expect to make more arrests in the case.
