INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana High School Athletic Association signed a three-year contract with Indianapolis television station WTTV to broadcast state championship events.
The IHSAA announced Friday that WTTV would be the flagship station for a statewide network of live broadcasts of all championship events in baseball, boys and girls basketball, football and volleyball.
The championships in soccer, softball, wrestling and swimming and diving will be televised on at least a tape-delayed basis.

Rick Greenspan, the former athletic director at Indiana, is the new athletic director at Rice, replacing Chris Del Conte, who left in October to become athletic director at TCU.

Female coach to lead D.C. varsity
Natalie Randolph was introduced as the coach at Calvin Coolidge Senior High School in Washington, D.C. She is believed to be the only woman coaching a high school varsity football team in the U.S.

IPFW (8-8) claimed a 3-0 victory Thursday at Puerto Rico-Rio Piedras, winning in sets of 30-22, 30-20 and 30-20. The teams play again at 7 p.m. today.

Overall speedskating World Cup champion Shani Davis won his third title of the season at 1,500 meters, finishing in 1 minute, 45.20 seconds in the Netherlands. Lindsey Vonn won her third consecutive overall World Cup title by winning the Super-G in at Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Germany.
