    A home on Fort Wayne's southeast side sustained heavy fire and smoke damage in a fire Thursday afternoon.

    The employee was shot with the stun gun after confronting a man and a woman at a Fort Wayne Kroger store.

Bedroom damaged in blaze

A house fire at 5518 Bowser Ave. badly damaged a bedroom Saturday afternoon, according to the Fort Wayne Fire Department.

Firefighters were called to the home at 1:40 p.m. after a neighbor noticed smoke coming from the one-story house, according to a fire department report. The fire was contained to the bedroom and extinguished, the report said.

While fire damage was limited to the bedroom, the house sustained smoke damage throughout, according to the report. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
