"Moore" of a spotlight

Under the bright lights of television, Warsaw junior Nic Moore didn't hurt his flourishing image Saturday in the Class 4A semistate at Huntington North.

Moore, a candidate to be a junior All-Star this year and Indiana All-Star next season, had 26 points, four assists and two rebounds.

The 5-foot-9 point guard made 9 of 12 from the field and 3 of 5 three-pointers, to go along with 5 of 5 free throws.

"We know when he has the hot hand, just get him the ball and he can hit it from anywhere," senior teammate Justin Clemens said.

Moore will get another chance next Saturday when the Tigers face North Central and its talented senior, Purdue recruit Terone Johnson, in the 4A state championship.

"This week we are just going to bust our butts, and hopefully come home with a state championship," Moore said.

Moore has been seen by major Division I coaches during the Tigers' postseason run, including assistants from Louisville last week at the regional.
