‘Alias’ star, fiancée met in grocery parking lot

Michael Vartan, 41, former star of TV’s “Alias,” is engaged to Lauren Skaar, with a wedding planned for next year, People magazine reported over the weekend.

The couple, who met last year in a Whole Foods Market parking lot in Los Angeles, got engaged two weeks ago in New York.

This will be the first marriage for both.

Vartan, who used to date “Alias” co-star Jennifer Garner, stars opposite Jada Pinkett Smith in the TNT series “Hawthorne.” Season 2 begins this summer.

Soap will dish out more

NBC has ordered up another season of the long-running soap opera “Days of Our Lives.”

The soap “continues to be a favorite of the daytime audience, and we are thrilled to keep it going through its 45th season,” said Marc Graboff, chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios. “ ‘Days’ has shown year-to-year increases in key female demographics,” he added.

“Days of Our Lives,” the third-longest-running soap on U.S. television, debuted in November 1965 as a half-hour series.
