The Notre Dame women's basketball team is heading to Kansas City.
The second-seeded Irish defeated No. 10 seed Vermont 84-66 Tuesday in Purcell Pavilion in the second round of the NCAA tournament.
Notre Dame (29-5) will play the winner of tonight's game between Arkansas-Little Rock and Oklahoma on Sunday in the semifinals of the Kansas City Regional.
Freshman guard Skylar Diggins fueled the Irish's win, scoring a career-high 31 points. She also had six assists and eight steals.
When Diggins was taken out with 58.8 seconds to play, she exited to a standing ovation and received a hug from coach Muffet McGraw.
