A music producer and co-founder of KC and the Sunshine Band, responsible for such hits as “Shake Your Booty” and “Get Down Tonight,” has acknowledged having sex with teenage boys, police said this week.

Richard R. Finch, 56, was arrested Tuesday after a boy told authorities he’d had sexual contact with him at Finch’s home in Newark, Ohio, the Licking County sheriff’s office said. The boy made the revelation last week.

Finch admitted he’d had sex with that boy and others ages 13 to 17, police said.

Finch, a former bass player for the band and a seven-time Grammy-winner, was being held on $250,000 bond.

No date had been set for Finch’s arraignment, Sgt. Kevin Biller said.

Actor gravely ill?

Dennis Hopper is terminally ill and unable to undergo chemotherapy as he battles prostate cancer, his attorney said in a court filing.

Joseph Mannis wrote about the “Easy Rider” star’s grave condition in a declaration asserting the actor can’t be questioned by his wife’s attorneys in a deposition.

The prognosis contradicts previous filings in the divorce proceedings that were bullish about Hopper’s recovery.

Hopper, 73, and wife Victoria have been locked in a bitter feud since the actor- director filed to end the couple’s 14-year marriage in January.

He weighs 100 pounds and was described by physician Dr. David Agus as extremely weak and unable to carry on long conversations.

The doctor added, however, that he OK’d Hopper’s appearance today to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame because it’s likely to be a positive experience.

Palin’s show on TLC

Sarah Palin’s travelogue series about Alaska has landed at TLC, and filming is set to begin this summer.

Network owner Discovery Communications said it had acquired rights to the eight-part series, produced by Mark Burnett (“Survivor”). The deal lands “Sarah Palin’s Alaska” on the network that also airs “Cake Boss” and “I Didn’t Know I Was Pregnant.”

The series, with no airdate yet, explores Alaska’s unique features as seen through the eyes of its former governor.

Last of ‘The Hills’ set

MTV said Thursday that the sixth and last season of the hit reality soap “The Hills” will begin April 27. Twelve new episodes will be aired.

It has been one of MTV’s most popular series and has made stars out of

featured couple Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt.

MTV Programming President Tony DiSanto promised the series would go out on a high note with drama, emotion and “an organic culmination of this saga.”

The fifth season of “The Hills” was one of the top 10 original series on cable TV last year. A DVD of that season will go on sale the same day as Season 6 begins.

Showtime renews

“Nurse Jackie” and “United States of Tara,” two shows just one episode into their second seasons, have been picked up by Showtime for third seasons.

The shows were off to good starts Monday: “Jackie” drew 1.1 million viewers, an improvement of 13 percent over its premiere last year. “Tara” drew 1.2 million.

Each show received a 12-episode order for next season, and both will go back into production this year for a likely premiere in 2011.

‘Idol’ hopeful speedy

The Washington State Patrol says former “American Idol” star Sanjaya Malakar was caught speeding at 110 mph on Interstate 405 outside of Seattle.

He was stopped about 2:30 a.m. Tuesday and given a $411 ticket. Trooper Dan MacDonald said there was no one else on the freeway at the time so Malakar, 20, doesn’t face a reckless-endangerment charge.
