Statement issued Monday:
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – Workers sealing the concourse at Parkview Field have finished the job, clearing the way for a reopening to the public. Parkview Field is once again open daily from 7:00 a.m. until dusk.
The sealant protects the concrete against general wear and tear, extending the life of the concourse. It is the same sealant trusted to protect the concourse at the new Cowboys Stadium in Dallas, Tex.
“This process makes the concourse easier to clean, less likely to deteriorate and generally nicer to look at,” TinCaps Facilities Director Tim Burkhart said. “This was a great way to improve the longevity of the ballpark and now we’re glad to welcome the public back, especially with warmer weather on the way.”
The Parkview Field concourse has become a popular place for local residents to walk. A lap around the ballpark equates to 1/3 of a mile.
Tickets, group outings and picnics for the TinCaps’ 2010 season are on sale now. Visit TinCaps.com or call (260) 482-6400 for more information.
