Former Notre Dame quarterback Jimmy Clausen will not attend the NFL draft in New York next week, according to a report on Profootballtalk.com.
Clausen had planned to attend the draft, which begins Thursday, with members of his family, but he backed out when his grandfather – whose wife recently died – couldn’t make the trip.
Clausen decided not to return for his senior season with the Irish after completing 289 of 425 passes for 3,722 yards with 28 touchdowns and four interceptions as a junior.
Notre Dame finished last season 6-6 and decided it would not go to a bowl game after former coach Charlie Weis was fired and replaced by Brian Kelly.
