Gerardot still waiting

Tabitha Gerardot is still waiting for a decision by the NCAA on her all-star status.

The Canterbury senior has been in a state of limbo about whether her late graduation date will cause her to miss any all-star basketball games in the next couple of months.

Gerardot's father Chris said Saturday that the NCAA confirmed receiving the documentation from Canterbury (via Valparaiso) that Gerardot will be finished with high school in late May and the June 12 date is only a ceremony.

Tabitha Gerardot finished third in the Miss Basketball voting and was first team All-State.

She is in Oak Hill this weekend for the North-South All-Star game. That would count as the first of two all-star games she could play in before her high school scholastic career is over.

She is hoping to play in April 24's Nancy Rehm/Border Wars Classic, and then the Indiana-Kentucky series June 11-12.

If the NCAA denies her appeal, she would most likely end up playing in only one Indiana-Kentucky game and miss Border Wars and the other Indiana-Kentucky game.
