I honestly can't recall covering a more meaningless game. I know the Komets ran away with the regular-season trophy in 2008, so there were some inconsequential games, but at least we wanted to see if they cruised into the playoffs or faltered.
Tonight's game? Nothing to it, really.
To the Komets' credit, they're playing hard. They have outshot the Mallards 13-10, though it's scoreless early in the second.
Tim Haun is in the net for the Komets and looks fine. I now expect he will be on the playoff roster.
Beyond that, the biggest thing of note is that Konstantin Shafranov is still here -- in the press box.
