Steve McClain has been named an assistant coach for the Indiana men’s basketball team.

McClain spent the previous three years at Colorado, the last two as associate head coach.

“It means a lot to me to be able to bring in someone with the knowledge, experience and aggressiveness of Steve McClain,” Indiana coach Tom Crean said in a statement.

“I have admired him for how hard he works and for how hard his teams, especially at Wyoming, played. He brings a toughness to our program that has shown in those who have played for him, and he carries that same mindset over into recruiting.”

McClain has 28 years of college coaching experience. He was the head coach at Wyoming from 1998 to 2007, where he had a 157-115 record.

“I’m really looking forward to being able to work with Tom and this staff,” McClain said in a statement.
