Bishop Dwenger junior Tony Springmann has committed to play football at Notre Dame.

Springmann made an oral commitment to new Irish coach Brian Kelly before Saturday's Blue-Gold game in South Bend.

In a text message to The Journal Gazette, Springmann wrote: "Shook Coach Kelly's hand and am part of the Irish."

A 6-foot-7, 240-pound offensive and defensive lineman, Springmann was in South Bend for the Blue-Gold game with his family.

He can't officially sign with Notre Dame until February of his senior year.
