In poor taste, Port Huron

PORT HURON, Mich. -- There are some things you just don't mess with and, as far as I'm concerned, this is one of them. The Icehawks' mascot, who seems to have all his ammunition for the officials, just walked through McMorran Arena with a fake Amber Alert noting a missing referee.

That's in poor taste.

On the ice, the game is tied at 2. The only goal of the second period so far was scored by Port Huron's Kris Vernarsky, his second of the night.

However, Fort Wayne goaltender Nick Boucher has been stupendous. He has stopped five shots from absolute point-blank range, including two on Brandon Kaleniecki.

Boucher has stopped 25 of 27 shots. Port Huron's Larry Sterling has stopped 21 of 23, with less than a minute left in the period.

Very intense game right now. Very back and forth. Very even.
