Two men were arrested early Saturday after Kosciusko County Drug Task Force officers reported receiving an anonymous tip about an active methamphetamine lab south of Pierceton.

As Kosciusko County Sheriff's Department deputies arrived at 6290 E. County Road 400 South and approached a shed, two men attempted to flee on foot, the county sheriff's department said in a statement.

Dennis Ray Deaton Jr., 37, of Pierceton, and Steven Dewayne Mullins, 36, of Warsaw, were taken into custody about 1 a.m., the statement said.

It said task force officers located an active methamphetamine lab and a loaded .45-caliber Ruger handgun.

The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab team was called to handle the lab, the statement said.

It said Deaton and Mullins were preliminarily charged with felony manufacturing methamphetamine and were being held without bond.
