Komets trailing 1-0

PORT HURON, Mich. -- The Komets trail the Port Huron Icehawks 1-0 at the end of one period at McMorran Arena. Mike Kinnie scored from the left circle during a power play, with Colin Chaulk in the box for the Komets.

Even though the Komets have outshot the Icehawks 13-10, I think Fort Wayne was outplayed for most of the period.

Here's what I noticed: The Komets are passing up too many easy shots and aren't hitting as much as the Icehawks, who really were energized from start to finish. The Komets had a good six-minute spell, but it ended with the Kinnie goal.
