ART AWARDS: The winner of the 31st annual Tri Kappa Student Art Awards Best in Show was Hannah Oman for her mixed-media piece Strong Roots. She also won in the wheel-thrown ceramics category. Other winners were Aaron Hickman in watercolor; Emily Elder in oil/acrylic and colored pencil/pastel/marker; Dani Thomas in drawing; Amber Mills in sculpture – metal, carved or cast; Frannie Garrett in hand-built ceramics, Tayjor Baker in photography; and Julia Bartlett in the open category.
ART CLASS: A creative drawing class is being offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. May 4, 11 and 25 at the Wassenberg Art Center, 643 S. Washington St., Van Wert, Ohio.
