Shawl or Scarf?

Today I'm wearing a shawl I made a few years ago. It's the Free & Easy Pie Wedge Shawl, which is free on the ball band of Lorna's Laces Helen's Lace yarn. The half-silk of the yarn keeps me warm and toasty even though it is a truly lovely and light lacy shawl.

Or, I should say, it is a shawl on me. I made another one for a friend who was undergoing chemotherapy. I sent it to her as a virtual hug, because I couldn't be there for her in person.

She wrote me a thank-you note: "Thanks for the scarf!"

She is six feet tall and I am...well, not. Very much not.

Note to self: make sure you think about the size of your giftee. Or else be ready to block the life out of what you made. I think the suggested size for shawls is the width should just about equal the height of the person. Whoops.
