Some things the Komets' players are saying:
Colin Chaulk, on what kind of team Flint is: "Especially as of late, they're a great team. They pressure hard, they take care of the puck. As far as I'm concerned they deserve where they are right now."
Colin Chaulk, on both teams coming back from 3-1 deficits in the semifinals: "I think it's pretty obvious it's definitely not gonna be over until that last buzzer, that's for sure. And they've got Cinderella story going for them. Way out of the playoffs midseason, and really battled back really hard. They're probably the hottest team in the IHL in the second half."
Colin Chaulk on keys to the series: "I really think (it's) who takes care of the puck, doesn't just pitch it into areas. Lot of players do that when they're in trouble, they just kind of throw it. If you can keep pucks in safe areas and keep it on the boards when we're in trouble ... But that being said, if there's a play to be made, you have to make a play. That's what they do, and they do a good job of it. If there's an open man they hit it and they come hard and explosive, and if we just pitch pucks all over the place, we could be in trouble."
Sean O'Connor on Flint's style: "I don't (think) they're gonna give us many opportunities. I think they're playing really well defensively. And they have great centermen. Their centermen are really good on draws, and they're really good defensively. So I don't think there's gonna be too many offensive opportunities, like odd-man rushes or anything like that. I think they're pretty strong that way."
