Timely hitting

Fort Wayne had just four hits through eight innings Saturday against Lansing.

The TinCaps got three more in the four-run ninth and another which led to the game-winning run in the 10th inning of a 5-4 victory.

"Just to get them going was good," said Jason Hagerty, who went 2 for 3 with a walk and one RBI. "We had been pretty cold lately. It was good to be able to string some hits together."

The TinCaps also took advantage of two Lansing errors in the ninth to force the extra frame. Jonathan Galvez began the 10th with a single and later scored on a wild pitch. Fort Wayne improved to 2-1 in extra-inning games.
