"American Idol" voters decided who the final three contestants in this year's competition would be, and Michael Lynche was left off the list.

The remaining finalists head back to their hometowns for homecoming footage for next week's show. Here are some thoughts from this week's elimination.

Angie

• It was well beyond his time to go. He was booted off well before but the judges decided to save him ... and I think they just wanted to use the save. Big Mike is one big joke. He was a one-trick pony and America was tired of riding ponies. Granted, at this point, America would be happy seeing this show over and so would the judges.

Anthony

• I think America eventually got the Top 3 right, but Big Mike should have stayed eliminated over a month ago. The judges' save was just one of the many things about this season that went wrong. Other than the three people remaining, no one in the Top 12 even deserved to be saved. Also, was Crystal really third in the voting? I hope Lynche's supporters join team Bowersox.
