Golfer finishers 39th in regional

Purdue junior Erich Johnston, a Homestead graduate, completed the final day of play at the NCAA Central Regional at the Warren Golf Course in South Bend in a tie for 39th place with a six-over total of 216.

After second-round play was suspended Friday, Johnston finished his second 18 holes in the morning with a 1-over 71, his best round of the tournament. He carded a 2-over 72 in the afternoon session to bring his final total to 216.
