Every TinCap who batted Sunday had a hit. Except Jeudy Valdez. The second baseman changed that in his final at-bat, singling to center. The two-out hit in the bottom of the ninth brought home Rymer Liriano and gave the TinCaps a 7-6 win against West Michigan.
"In that at-bat, it's tough because you have the bases loaded and the outfielders shaded in to take away the Texas leaguer," TinCaps manager Jose Flores said.
"To battle through a 3-2 count and foul some tough pitches off, it just goes to show he kept his composure, believed in himself and got a good pitch and he put a good swing on it."
The TinCaps have won six of seven.
