Ex-football coaches honored

Some former northeast Indiana football coaches are being honored next month.

Four former coaches from the area will be inducted into the Indiana Football Hall of Fame on June 23 at Goeglein's Reception Hall.

The four are Rick Minnich of Adams Central, John Gaughan of Bishop Luers, Dale Hummer of DeKalb and John Hutton of Garrett.

Social hour is at 6 p.m. and the banquet begins at 7 p.m.

Reservations are $25 and can be obtained from ex-Woodlan coach Leland Etzler, 22837 Park Lane, Woodburn, IN 46797.

Also, a golf outing June 8 at Lakeside will help to honor retiring Dwenger athletic director Andy Johns, also the former Saints football coach.

The cost is $40 and players should contact current Saints football coach Chris Svarczkopf (496-4718) by June 4.
