IU women add point guard

Alisha Goodwin, a point guard from Jefferson College, will play for the Indiana women's basketball team. Goodwin, who is 5-foot-8, averaged 12.9 points, 3.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.3 steals last season for the NJCAA school located in Hillsboro, Missouri.

"I'm so proud of my staff for really pounding the pavement and putting together a great recruiting class," IU coach Felisha Legette-Jack said in a statement. "Alisha brings us a backup in the point guard position, as well as at the two guard spot. She is a gifted athlete with a high IQ for the game and I really think her track background will help is push the ball up the floor this upcoming season. Alisha is just an unbelievable person with a great personality and we are really excited about her becoming a Hoosier."
