Still waiting ...

Still nothing official to report at this time, but I keep hearing information that leads me to believe this will not be a full-on merger between the IHL and Central Hockey League.

If that is the case, of course, you will remember who the one reporter that cautioned you against believing merger was a done deal was, right? And if it's not the case, well, ignore this whole post.

But I continue to get the sense we're going to have some interleague games and some sort of postseason championship between the IHL and CHL. How that works with the players' association, if I'm correct, is a big question.

  • Tonight's edition of "We've got Game," co-hosted by Justin Cohn and Ben Smith, will run from 6 to 7 p.m. live and you can hear it anytime after that on replay. We will have a lot of different topics of sports and pop culture, including an interview with Brian Sandalow of The Monitor in Rio Grande Valley, Texas, who will give us the perspective from the CHL side of things. To hear the show, click here. (We have been having some issues with the Firefox browser, so if you don't see the radio button on that page, we are aware of the issue and working to resolve it. But there should be a link that takes you to a page that will work regardless of browser. When this all gets sorted out, we will bring the radio button back to this page, too.)
