Thomas will be 70th Mr. Basketball to sign ball

The 2010 Indiana All-Star boys and girls teams will visit the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame on Wednesday afternoon.

While here there will be an interesting occasion taking place.

Tom and Sandy Howley from the Shelbyville area have devoted countless hours and miles gathering the signatures of the Miss Basketball and Mr. Basketball winners of the past.

They have gathered the signatures of all but three Indiana Mr. Basketball award winners.

The autographed Mr. Basketball basketballs were auctioned off to raise money for Triton Central High School a few years back and are now owned by a man in Wisconsin, but Tom Howley is still taking care of the third ball to gather the most recent Mr. Basketball signatures.

Bishop Luers senior Deshaun Thomas will be the 70th Mr. Basketball to sign this collection of balls when the All-Stars visit Wednesday.

Also, the Howleys have donated two basketballs featuring all Miss Basketball autographs to the Hall of Fame and will add this year's Miss Basketball, Courtney Moses, to the signatures while they visit.
