Four TinCaps earned spots on the Midwest League All-Star team. The game is June 22 at Parkview Field.
Outfielder Danny Payne was named a starter. He has a .298 average with one home run and 14 RBI since joining the team May 12.
First baseman Nate Freiman is a reserve. He leads the TinCaps with a .301 average and 34 RBI. He also has four homers.
Starting pitcher Jerry Sullivan and closer Nick Schumacher will also participate.
Sullivan has a team-high five wins. He is 5-2 with a 3.15 ERA. Sullivan also leads Fort Wayne in strikeouts (52). He has walked just 16 batters.
Schumacher is tied for third in the Midwest League with 11 saves. The right-handed pitcher is 2-2 with a 2.41 ERA.
The Eastern Division team will be managed by TinCaps skipper Jose Flores. The rest of his staff, pitching coach Bronswell Patrick and hitting coach Tom Tornincasa, will also coach.
The Eastern Division starters are catcher A.J. Jimenez (Lansing), first baseman Jerry Sands (Great Lakes), second baseman Henry Rodriguez (Dayton), third baseman Mark Sobolewski (Lansing), shortstop Christian Lara (Great Lakes), outfielders Chris Murrill (Bowling Green), Bo Greenwell (Lake County) and Payne and the designated hitter Chun-Hsiu Chen (Lake County).
The Western Division starters are catcher Will Myers (Burlington), first baseman Matt Adams (Quad Cities), second baseman Ryan Gennett (Wisconsin), third baseman Anderson Hidalgo (Beloit), shortstop Hak-Ju Lee (Peoria), outfielders Aaron Hicks (Beloit), Michael Trout (Cedar Rapids) and Khris Davis (Wisconsin) and designated hitter Vinnie Catricala (Clinton).
Burlington's coaching staff will lead the Western Division.
