Stutzman wins Republican caucus

After the second round of voting at the 3rd district GOP congressional caucus state Sen. Marlin Stutzman was declared the winner.

The vote was a bit of a surprise because the decision came so quickly after a lengthy first round.

The second ballot results are:

Republican precinct committeemen and committeewomen from around northeast Indiana gathered in Columbia City today to choose a candidate for the special election to fill the remainder of Mark Souder's term in the U.S. House.

The caucus also chose Stutzman to run on the November ballot for a full two-year term, which would begin in January.
