After the second round of voting at the 3rd district GOP congressional caucus state Sen. Marlin Stutzman was declared the winner.
The vote was a bit of a surprise because the decision came so quickly after a lengthy first round.
The second ballot results are:
Randy Borror 69
Liz Brown 39
Ryan Elijah 46
Marlin Stutzman 229
Bob Thomas 17
Republican precinct committeemen and committeewomen from around northeast Indiana gathered in Columbia City today to choose a candidate for the special election to fill the remainder of Mark Souder's term in the U.S. House.
The caucus also chose Stutzman to run on the November ballot for a full two-year term, which would begin in January.
