Verbatim: Free breakfast, lunch for all children

Statement issued by Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County:

Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County in conjunction with East Wayne Street Center, announces plans to partner in a new Summer Food Service Program.

Free meals will be made available to all children 18 years of age and under. Also eligible are persons over 18 years who are enrolled in state-approved educational programs for the mentally or physically disabled. Breakfast will be served from 8-9 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. weekdays.

The program runs June 14 through August 13. There will be no meals served on July 5. Meals will be distributed at East Wayne Street Center, 801 East Wayne Street.

Free meals will be provided to all children, and meals are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

There will be no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
