The National Weather Service in northern Indiana says thunderstorms, some of them severe, are likely in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio on Wednesday.
It said there is a chance that less severe storms will occur Tuesday afternoon. Worse storms are expected in the evening, the weather service said, with damaging winds and locally heavy rainfall.
Counties in the hazardous weather outlook area include:
Indiana – Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Kosciusko, LaGrange, Noble, Steuben, Wabash, Wells, Whitley, Grant, Blackford Cass, Elkhart, Fulton, La Porte, Marshall, Miami, Pulaski, St. Joseph, Starke, White and Jay.
Ohio – Williams, Fulton, Defiance, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert and Allen.
The weather service said many rivers in the region are already at levels above normal and that this week’s storms might cause at least minor flooding.
