Woman's fetus dies in Cincinnati car accident

CINCINNATI – Authorities say a driver trying to flee a Cincinnati police officer crashed into several trees, throwing a pregnant woman from the vehicle and killing her fetus.

Police say the driver, 18-year-old driver Wesley Fain, has been charged with aggravated vehicular homicide in Sunday's crash.

Passenger Jasmine Malone was 8 months pregnant. Police say the 19-year-old wasn't wearing a seat belt. She was injured and taken to a hospital.

Authorities say Fain sped away from an intersection after an officer in the next lane motioned for Fain to turn on his headlights.

Assistant Police Chief James Whalen said the officer lost sight of Fain's vehicle, came around a sharp curve and discovered the wreckage.

It wasn't immediately clear whether Fain had an attorney.
