A Huntington drivers education instructor faces two felony charges of sexual battery, accused of inappropriately touching a teenage boy.
Gerald W. Town, 47, owns Northeast Indiana Driving Academy, 88 Home St., Huntington.
Huntington County prosecutors charged Town last week in Huntington Circuit Court.
According to Huntington Police Chief Tom Emely, the students parents called police after the teen alleged that Town touched him in a sexual manner.
Town has an inactive elementary education license, according to the Indiana Department of Education. If convicted of the two felony charges, Town could face more than a year in prison.
Emely said he believed Town was being investigated in Grant County for similar behavior and the investigation in Huntington is ongoing. He urged anyone with any concerns about Town to contact police.
A message left at the Northeast Indiana Driving Academy was unreturned Tuesday. Town was arrested and released Thursday from the Huntington County Jail on $20,000 bond.
