Harangody goes to Celtics

Former Notre Dame star Luke Harangody had to wait a while, as expected, but he finally heard his named called in the second round of Thursday’s NBA draft.

The forward was taken 52nd overall by the Boston Celtics.

Harangody, who flirted with entering the NBA draft after his junior season, left Notre Dame on the school's all-time scoring (2,434 points) and rebounding (1,207) lists. He was a two-time All-American, a three-time Big East first-team selection, the 2007-08 Big East player of the year and the first player inducted into Notre Dame's ring of honor in the refurbished Purcell Pavilion.
