Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly said recruiting is all about relationships.
And one Kelly and his staff formed while at Cincinnati has benifited the Irish.
Eilar Hardy a safety from Pickerington (Ohio) Central High School orally committed to Notre Dame, according to the South Bend Tribune.
“That’s when they started recruiting me, at Cincinnati,” Hardy told the paper. “They were recruiting me hard ever since then. So that’s one of the main reasons why I chose Notre Dame.”
The 6-foot, 180-pound Hardy had 85 tackles and four interceptions last season, and he will likely be moved to cornerback at Notre Dame, according to the report.
Hardy is the 11th member of Notre Dame’s 2011 recruiting class, which includes Bishop Dwenger's Tony Springmann.
