The TinCaps added its first player from San Diego's 2010 draft Sunday. Outfielder Daniel Meeley was added from the Padres' short-season team in Eugene, Ore. He replaces Joe Agreste, who was transferred to the Arizona League Padres in Peoria, Ariz.
Fort Wayne also announced the retirement of right-handed pitcher John Hussey. Hussey had been placed on the disabled list retroactive to June 12. He couldn't get out of the third inning in his last two outings, allowing seven runs on eight hits in 2 2/3 innings on June 5 against Beloit and nine runs, five earned, on nine hits in 2 2/3 innings June 11 at Clinton.
Hussey had a 4-3 record with a 6.35 ERA. He missed all of 2008 recovering from Tommy John surgery on his right elbow.
