Stan Drulia, who coached the Port Huron Icehawks for four seasons, reaching the Turner Cup Finals in 2007, has been hired by the Wheeling Nailers of the ECHL.

Yes, it was Drulia who had been poised to be Dayton's coach in the IHL-Central Hockey League coalition, a source confirmed, until the Gems' introductory press conference was scuttled Wednesday.

I wonder where the Gems will look now.

There are some good available coaches, such as Rich Kromm, Jason Muzzatti and Steve Martinson. I know the Gems had interviewed a guy coaching in Europe, who I can't name because he did so while in another job. I wonder if the Komets might suggest an interview for Gary Graham.
