A costly ejection

TinCaps manager Jose Flores will likely hear from the Midwest League office after bumping into field umpire Matt Jones while arguing a ninth-inning call in a game Fort Wayne lost 8-7 to Bowling Green.

Danny Payne was ruled out for over-sliding third as he attempted to steal the bag with one out in the ninth.

Flores was coaching from the third-base box.

"Danny did slide over the bag, but it wasn't far enough. I think his (Jones) positioning was wrong," Flores said. "(Payne) did get back on time, I thought. His positioning on that call, I thought, was wrong. That was just my opinion on that."

Flores argued the call and got ejected.
