Verbatim: Northside Pool is closed today

Statement issued Wednesday morning:

Fort Wayne, IN: Northside Pool will be closed all day today due to mechanical problems. The pool is expected to reopen Thursday at 9:15 am for Learn to Swim and open to the public at 12:30 pm.

Memorial Pool, 2301 Maumee & Glasgow, will be open today 12:30 – 5 pm. McMillen Pool on Oxford Street will be open today 1:30 – 6 pm.

All the City's free Splash Pads will also be on all day. Splash pads are touch activated. To turn the water on, look for a short pole (approx. 3 ft. tall) with a plastic dome top located within the play area. Place your hands on the dome for a few seconds. The water will appear shortly and run for several minutes. When the water stops, repeat the procedure. The splash pad at Robert E. Meyers Park is foot activated. Look for the touch pad on the ground at the east side of the splash pad.

Statement issued Wednesday by Fort Wayne Parks & Recreation:

The Wednesday 5:15 pm and 6:05 pm Learn to Swim classes will go on as scheduled at Northside Pool, although the pool is closed for public swim.

On Thursday, the Preschool and Toddlers Learn to Swim classes will go on as scheduled. Levels 1 – 4 classes are canceled on Thursday.

Northside Pool is expected to be open for public swim on Thursday at 12:30 pm.
