HAMMOND – Former Indiana players Isiah Thomas and Steve Alford are among the celebrities set to roast Bob Knight during a charity event.
Organizers say several rivals of the former Indiana coach also will speak at the Sept. 18 event at Horseshoe Casino in Hammond – including Digger Phelps, Jud Heathcote and Johnny Orr.
Tickets will cost $50 to $500. The roast is a benefit for St. Joseph High School in suburban Chicago, which Thomas attended.
Knights Indiana teams won three NCAA titles, and he set the record for Division I mens basketball victories while at Texas Tech.
Knight has made infrequent public appearances in Indiana since he was fired as the Hoosiers coach in 2000. Knight was the commencement speaker at Trine University in Angola in May.

Clemens asks for revival of case
Roger Clemens lawyers asked a federal appeals court to revive a defamation lawsuit he filed against his former personal trainer, Brian McNamee, who claims he injected the ex-major leaguer with steroids and human growth hormone more than a dozen times. A three-judge panel from the 5th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in New Orleans heard the case but didnt indicate when it will rule.

NBA Summer League update
Former Notre Dame star Luke Harangody scored 12 points and added three rebounds as the Boston Celtics defeated Charlotte 92-71 at the Orlando Summer League. Former Mad Ants guard Oliver Lafayette had five points and three assists. In other games, former Indiana teammates D.J. White (eight points) and Robert Vaden (two points) helped Oklahoma City past Philadelphia 89-80. Former Purdue and Huntington North star Chris Kramer did not play for a third straight game as the Pacers beat the Jazz 83-74.
NBA sets cap; Celtics sign Allen
The NBA salary cap for next season has been set at $58 million, a higher number than projected. The league was projecting the cap to come in at $56.1. Ray Allen confirmed to The Associated Press that he has agreed to a two-year, $20 million contract to return to the Boston Celtics. Allen, who turns 35 this month, was a free agent. He averaged 16.3 points last season. Kevin Durant said hes agreed to a five-year, $85 million contract extension with the Oklahoma City.

Hoosiers add strength coach
JeNey Jackson has joined the Indiana strength and conditioning staff and will be working with the mens basketball program. Jackson has been at Southern Mississippi since February. He spent five years with the Kansas football program, including the last three years as cornerbacks coach. Before that, Jackson was an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Kansas for two seasons and spent six years as strength and conditioning coach at Wyoming.

Tackett wins state Junior PGA
E.J. Tackett of Huntington won the Indiana Section Junior PGA Championship, firing a two-day total of 3-under 139 at Honeywell Golf Course in Wabash. Kendallvilles Katie Sharp won the girls event at 6-over 148. Tackett posted a final-round 2-under 69 and finished one stroke ahead of Columbus Brandon Knapp. Sharp shot a final-round 6-over 77 and finished one stroke up on Columbus Erinn Sutton.

Area students set for national rodeo
Whitkos Kole Craig and North Manchesters Coleman Rude earned spots on the Indiana High School Rodeo Team, and they will compete in the bull-riding competition of the National High School Finals Rodeo, July 18 at Gillette, Wyo. The NHSFR will have more than over 1,500 contestants.
