Another day, more big news on the signing front.
One day after the Komets announced that Nick Boucher and Sean O'Connor were in the fold, they had perhaps even better news: Local favorite Kaleigh Schrock and a significant piece of two Komets' Turner Cup teams, Mathieu Curadeau, have agreed to terms.
Schrock, 25, made his pro debut with the Komets and was an immediate hit, scoring 20 goals and 31 points and lending untold energy and toughness to the lineup. At the end of the season, he was named the team's Rookie of the Year.
Curadeau, also 25, returns to the Komets after a year in which he played in both the ECHL and AHL. In 2007-08 and 2008-09, he was a key component on two Turner Cup teams, leading the team with 34 goals, including 13 power-play goals, and 65 points in 52 games.
