July 31 caucus set to fill Borror’s seat

The Indiana Republican Party on Wednesday set the House District 84 caucus for July 31 at Allen County GOP headquarters, 135 W. Main St.

The caucus will begin at 10 a.m. and will focus first on filling the vacancy left by former Rep. Randy Borror’s resignation. A second vote will choose a replacement for Borror on the fall ballot.

So far only two candidates have announced – former Fort Wayne Community Schools board member Jon Olinger and Allen County Commissioner Bill Brown.

A third declaration is expected today from Derek Pillie, district director for former U.S. Rep. Mark Souder.
