FWCS has gag order

Apparently some of the coaches at North Side and South Side have been hired, but nobody is talking.

That's because of a gag order by Fort Wayne Community Schools superintendent Wendy Robinson.

All parties concerned have been told not to talk about the situation until at least Monday's school board meeting, where the hirings will become official if the board approves them.

Interviews for positions, especially fall coaches, took place at South Side and North Side on Wednesday.

Wayne is in the same position with its coaches, but appears to be a little behind and will be still conducting some interviews next week. All three schools, along with Northrop, are looking for football coaches.

Assistant Ryan Hall has been the interim coach at North Side and is a safe bet to be the head coach come Monday, as is Mike Cheviron at South Side after being the head coach the last five years.

Both coaches have been running summer workouts and conditioning.
