Jose De Paula recovered from a rough outing last week against Quad Cities, going five strong Saturday in a 2-1 victory against Burlington.
De Paula allowed one run on four hits. He struck out four and walked two to improve to 5-3. De Paula lowered his ERA to 2.92. He had his most difficult outing of the season July 17 against Quad Cities, allowing seven runs on six hits in 2 2/3 innings.
"De Paula has been really good for us the entire time he has been here," TinCaps first baseman Nate Freiman said. Freiman hit a two-run homer in the fourth that served as the difference in the game. "He misses bats, he gets guys on occasionally, but he will get out of the inning. … Today we put up two and because of the pitching it was enough to win."
